Bold Food, House-Made Salsas

Cuates (kwa.tes) Kitchen brings the bold flavors of Veracruz, Mexico to every plate. Tacos are the star, with barbacoa, cochinita pibil, and fish tacos served on hand-pressed tortillas. Guests can also enjoy fresh ceviche, tinga empanadas, camarones a la diabla, enchiladas verdes, chicken pozole, and vegan carne asada. House-made salsas, including a spicy chile de arbol, add even more flavor. Weekend brunch adds Veracruz-inspired dishes, margaritas, Bloody Marys, and espresso martinis.

The Story Behind Cuates Kitchen

Cuates Kitchen was started by twins Carlos and Carla Rodriguez. “Cuates” means twins in their hometown of Veracruz, Mexico. They grew up watching their abuela and abuelo make queso, barbacoa, empanadas, and hand-pressed tortillas, making food a big part of their family. After years around restaurants, friends and family encouraged them to start a food truck. Dallas loved it, and that food truck grew into the brick-and-mortar Cuates Kitchen.

Hidden gem. Found them while searching for Al pastor tacos in Dallas. Got food twice, once to go and then dine in. Very delightful taste, good presentation, quality ingredients and proper execution (corn tortillas are by default). Right from warm salsa, tacos to entrees. Must try guiso dish, cochinita pibil tacos and Al pastor tacos. Pet friendly patio. Cozy atmosphere. Definitely recommend!

One of the best hidden gems in Dallas! This cute little place had the best service hands down. The servers literally called us family and treated us as if we were guests in their house! Atmosphere was beautiful and quaint. Definitely homey vibes. The food was amazing. I had the birria tacos and they did not disappoint. My wife had the bowl and it was equally delicious. This place is a 10/10 def recommend and would come back!
